Over the years, the PC/Mac game received several ports to the Sega Saturn and Sony PlayStation, and it was even ported to the Sony PSP and Nintendo DS more than a decade later. It was also a killer app for the CD-ROM, as it convinced players that the CD was the way of the future for games. The experience kept you guessing until you encounter one of several endings. For many, it was a world where combat was pushed away in favor of clever puzzles and loads of lore. The Miller brothers - designers of children's titles until then - wanted an adventure that everyone could play: a game for non-gamers.Myst is a well-loved classic that's important in the history of video games and technology. There is no violence, enemies, or ways to die in this game. The only interaction is the click of the mouse cursor. All puzzles were based on mechanisms and objects that the player need to manipulate. There was no inventory, and there were no items to collect. It was based on static scenes, beautifully rendered in 3D. The adventure, designed by two brothers, Rand and Robyn Miller, was utterly different from other titles seen until then. There are also several possible endings, depending on the player's choices.
